Whether you are a small tour operator, or a large upscale resort, this year’s BETEX provides the atmosphere for business and social interaction with key international travel trade professionals that are eager to work with Belize, and send more business your way. BETEX is the only travel show dedicated specifically to Belize, and expects to attract approximately 90 qualified trade visitors in order to connect local suppliers with international buyers that want to sell more travel to Belize.

Suppliers can increase their sales by establishing new business relationships with highly qualified wholesale and retail agents who sell outbound travel from the U.S.A., Canada, Europe and Central America. With a 1 to 1 agent to supplier ratio, BETEX is the perfect event to establish new business relationships and generate more business.

Who qualifies to register as a supplier?

All Suppliers must meet the requirements of the Admission Policy. Suppliers are Belize-based tourism stakeholders who are BTIA members, such as:

• hotels
• receptive tour operators
• car rentals
• restaurants
• local and international airlines
• national tourism organizations

How does it work?

Decentralized marketplace sessions will allow for more direct interaction between agents and suppliers in the destinations. Each of the nine trade itineraries will include three mornings of marketplace business sessions, which will take place simultaneously in three destinations.

Qualified suppliers will select one marketplace venue (either San Pedro, Placencia or Cayo). Tabletop space at each venue will allow for supplier product displays and an environment to meet with trade visitors. There is a limited number of spaces available at each venue (approximately 30 companies), and spaces will be assigned on a first-come first-serve basis. Suppliers that operate in San Pedro, Placencia or Cayo may select the marketplace venue where they operate, while suppliers that operate in other destinations may select the marketplace venue most convenient for them

How many trade visitors will I meet?

Three different groups of trade visitors will visit each marketplace each morning for three days (Days 2, 3 and 4). This rotation format will allow all suppliers the opportunity to meet all the registered trade participants in all nine groups. Each trade group will have approximately ten people, allowing meetings with approximately 30 different people each morning. A group lunch with buyers and suppliers will immediately follow each marketplace business session. Suppliers will also have the opportunity to interact with all agents at the opening ceremony on the first evening.

Registered suppliers may broaden their exposure by participating as an expedition sponsor, or by taking advantage of additional sponsorship and marketing opportunities.

Will my destination be showcased?

BETEX makes every effort to showcase as many Belize destinations as possible. The Opening Night will be held in Belize City, and Closing events will be held in BTIA chapter destinations not utilized as a marketplace venue, such as Hopkins, Dangriga, Toledo, Corozal, Orange Walk and Caye Caulker (to be determined based on the amount of registered suppliers from these destinations).

How much does it cost?

Supplier Registration is BZ$750.00 and includes the following:

• Attendance for two delegates to set up at one marketplace venue for three morning sessions with the opportunity to meet all registered buyers (venue options are: San Pedro, Cayo and Placencia – based on availability)
• Attendance at the Buyer & Supplier Lunch immediately following each marketplace session for two delegates
• Be included in and receive a copy of the Participants Directory (both online and in print).
• Attendance for two delegates at the opening event
• Access to BETEX marketing and promotional opportunities where applicable
• Pre-qualification to participate as an expedition sponsor
• Access to discounted hotel rates for suppliers where applicable
